The issues that face our members

  • Making up for missed secular education
  • Finding a replacement for much missed family and friends
  • Finding accommodation, often when on a minimum wage
  • Navigating a new and complex world
  • Adapting to new social conventions
  • Finding a new identity

For many of those who leave their community of birth, moving out into the wider society can be likened to being a refugee in their own country.

Please read our members ‘memoirs’. Each is on their their own journey and through their writing we give each a voice.
